7 Weeks!

Elliana is 7 weeks old today, but I swear, we just took her home from the hospital...

Update

No major news, but everything is still going well with Elliana. Lots of walking in the beautiful weather we've been having. It was nice to be home for a long weekend, and here are some pictures...

How can she bend her neck like this?

She gives me this look a lot, mostly on the changing table, like she is wondering if I know what I'm doing...

More Creepy Animals?

Elliana's play mat has animals hanging from it. I don't know who is designing these things, but they are reminiscent of the ones from the mobile. This lion is googley-eyed like the other, and a little creepy, but she still seems to like him. In the picture here, I think you can see just a bit of nervousness in the little girl as she keeps her eyes on the lion. It's like she is thinking, "I like you guys, because you're bright and make noises, but I don't feel like I can fully trust you..." That's probably why she never falls asleep on the mat.

New Pics

Elliana had her first overnight at Auntie Nadine's this week. We stayed there for two nigths to play with the Mathews while our bedroom floor got refinished.

The dogwood tree out back is now in full bloom. It doesn't last long, soon the white petals will be all over the porch, but it looks great right now!

Happy (Late) Mother's Day!

We had our Second Annual Mother's Day brunch at our house on Sunday. Homemade bagels, quiche, egg sandwiches, bacon, waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, and more! It was a good time, and Kristen's first Mother's Day, so congratulations to her!

1 Month, 2 days...

Well, little Elliana is just past a month old now, and had a doctor's appointment today. She has clearly gotten bigger since the last weigh-in, and is now tipping the scales at 9 pounds 5 ounces, which her doctor was very happy with. When I picked her up off the scale in the doctors office, she was naked, so I cuddled with her to warm her up a little. I thought about how she felt so nice and warm on me, no wait a minute, that's not just warm, but wet. Yup, pee all over Daddy...she's pretty cute, so I let it slide.

Also, we went down to the Cupboard House last night with our favorite neighbors, Guy and Jane Fossiano, and their boys, Michael and Anthony. We bumped into my parents down there, who we just told the other day, "If you go to the Cupboard, be sure to call us!" So my dad walks in, spies me in the corner, his face perhaps a little shocked, or panicked, and says, "Hey, we JUST called you guys to see if you wanted to come down!" Yeah right, from the parking lot once you saw our car there! No worries though, they shared their french fries with us...

4 weeks old!

Wow, it has been 4 weeks, and Elliana will be a month old on Saturday. I can't believe that we took this little peanut home

And now she is this big!

Getting Bigger...

Well, Elliana is getting bigger. She has graduated from her double bumper car seat padding to the single bumper version. She was too long to buckle the straps with the double pad, and it was getting tight on her head.

Here is the famous under-the-arms hold that Elliana loves. It tends to stop any gas pains that she has, and it helps put her to sleep at night! It is very cute watching her eyes droop as sleep sets in. Sometimes she makes a valiant effort to open the eyes back up, but more often than not, they close and out she goes...

Rocking Horse?

Elliana got her first big toy today from the Mathews family. It is a rocking horse, but actually, a rocking butterfly. It will be a few months before she can ride it herself, but she can enjoy it with our help in the meantime.

Busy weekend for us. Here is Elliana dressed up for Uncle Matthew's First Communion. That's not a typo, her uncle is receiving First Communion, and a Second Grader...
