Travels...

It was suggested by a friend that I post some pictures from my trip to Taipei, Taiwan. No baby cuteness here, but some pretty cool sightseeing. As always, click on the pictures for larger versions.

This is a Confucius Temple in Taipei, very intricate detail everywhere, dragons on the corners of buildings, and ceremonial places for prayer and incense lighting.

Unbelievable dragon carvings on the pillars which are both ornamental and structural.
More fine and colorful detail inside the roof of the temple shown above, low light, a bit blurry...
Dragon statue in the midst of a fish/turtle pond in a Taipei public park.
This is the northeast coast of the island of Taiwan, about a 45 minute bus ride from the capital city of Taipei.
More shots from the coast. Notice the huge concrete blocks shaped like "jacks" from the children's game. They pile these along the coastal route and around some of the bays to act as a breakwater (instead of the granite blocks like we have for Dog Bar Breakwater in Gloucester.)
Some totally bizarre and awesome rock formations up and down the coast.
Shot from the old gold mining mountain town of Chuifen looking down the valley toward the ocean. It took a long and winding road to get up here on the bus, but the market and the view up there was well worth it.
